 Amadi Hummings, violist, has been heard in concert in major cities across the globe, from New York to Tokyo to Tel Aviv, and throughout the Caribbean, South America, and Central America. In recent seasons, he has performed with the St. Lawrence, Arianna, Corigliano, Anderson, Chester, and Harrington string quartets. He has taught chamber music at the Brevard Music Center, the North Carolina School of the Arts summer session, the Mammoth Lakes (CA) C-hamber Music Festival, and the Aria International Summer Academy in London, Ontario. Born in New York City, Amadi earned his Bachelor’s degree at the New England Conservatory, and his Master’s degree at Indiana University.
Amadi once climbed Mt. Sinai at 1 am, getting to the top at 5:30 am, just as the sun was rising. He also enjoys softball, chess and bodysurfing. |
